ACTON Blink Lite Review

Acton Blink Lite: Low-Speed and Small Electric Skateboard

Acton Blink Lite

The ACTON Blink Lite is one of the safest and most affordable electric skateboards all around. With a 10 MPH max speed, it can replace a bicycle on short distances.

The board is just 27.5 inches long. This may seem too short at first glance, but, in practice, it’s a really convenient length. It also can easily fit in your bag or luggage. It can withstand only 130 lbs max, being suitable for kids, teens, and lightweight adults. The wheels measure 70mm.

Weighing only 7.7 pounds, it’s one of the lightest electric boards, so it’s very easy to carry around and the board feels smooth during uphill rides. In addition, such a weight puts less pressure on the motor, so it’s not likely to be damaged soon.

The ACTON Blink Lite allows you to ride up to 5 miles on one charge (about 45 minutes) but only under perfect conditions. If you are going to ride on hilly roads or over obstacles, the battery will last less.

The model uses a lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in just 2 hours. If the board runs out of charge, you are free to use it as a regular skateboard since it has a low resistance level.

The provided remote control allows you to turn the board on/off, regulate the speed, braking, and change directions. It connects to the board with the help of Bluetooth.

The unit is equipped with a hub motor which is a great benefit because such motors are better protected from damages since they are enclosed (unlike belt motors, for example). It has a power rating of 450W. The unit uses regenerative braking that uses less battery power.

The Blink Lite electric skateboard can be controlled via the ACTON app on your phone. It also enables you to switch between 3 modes (Beginner, Normal, and Pro). You also can view different information, such as charge level, motor's current temperature, as well as track miles traveled, and average speed.

The design of the ACTON Blink Lite electric skateboard is left over from the classic boards of the 80s, so it will definitely capture a lot of attention. The wheels are neon green and the top surface is black. The battery and the motor are mounted on the board’s bottom that has a wood finish.

There are two LED light straps, attached to the sides of the deck. They provide illumination in the dark and make the rider visible for drivers. The on/off switch to activate the LED straps is located next to the strap on the right side of the board. The charging port can be found on the left.

Despite being lightweight, the model is still durable since the deck is made of Canadian maple, the truck is aluminum, and the wheels are polyurethane.

The reviewed model is clearly targeted at youngsters. However, after testing the board for this ACTON Blink Lite review, I can say that it can also be a great option for inexperienced adults who want to learn how to skate. It’s also a very good model to ensure the safety and convenience of your kids since it’s lightweight, small, and relatively slow. The provided 3 modes also greatly contribute to the safety level. Nevertheless, I don’t like the fact that you can view battery level only via app.

The Blink Lite skateboard is not a serious model, it’s more like a cruiser. Hence, it’s not perfect for skateparks.
